Contact Sheet- We are sending home a contact sheet that students need to fill out and bring back tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept 12th. Every student needs at least 15 contacts. They will input their contacts into the Widdy-Up page and Widdy-Up will send their pitch video to their contacts and request donations.

We have created a pitch video that every student may us if the wish. Students can also create their own personalized pitch video. Please watch these examples of pitch videos. Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Example 4.

Pitch Video Script

Hey everyone! It’s (your name). I’m raising money for the Kempner High School band. We’re raising money so our band can buy instruments, equipment, props and all the things we need to be successful at contest this year, you know how competitive band is in Texas!!! With your help, our band can have the best year ever. My goal is to raise $500. If you make a donation, you’ll get an exclusive video of me playing a song on the (your instrument). Love you and thank you for your support!!

Individual Prizes

  • Each student that enters 15 contacts will get Donuts and a Shake gift on Friday, Sept 20th

  • 1st 3 students to hit $300 will get a gift card

  • The top section gets a pizza party(Amount raised divided by number of section members)

  • 3rd highest fundraiser will get gift cards

  • 2nd highest fundraiser will get gift cards, Movie Tickets

  • Top Fundraiser gets to be drum major for the last game, gift cards, canes gift card, Kempner Bracelet, Movie Tickets, Gift Card to Main Event

Section Prizes

  • Each section with 100% members raising $50 or more gets a Candy Bag

  • Each section with 100% members raising $150 or more gets to throw water balloons at Band Directors

  • Each section with 100% members raising $300 or more gets a movie night at Cinemark

Director Incentives

  • If we raise $10,000 Ms. Yen will be pied in the face by the Drum Majors

  • If we raise $15,000 Mr. Robillard will die his hair maroon(with real hair die)

  • If we raise $20,000 Mr. Dratler will shave his beard

  • If we raise $25,000 Mr. Brodt will shave a K, Mr. Dratler will shave an H, and Mr. Robillard will shave an S the back of their heads

Homecoming Parade

Thursday, September 12th

Parade Route: DDK Kabob Parking lot to KHS Teacher Parking lot

Parking will be in the back student parking lot.

On Thursday, September 12th we will have the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally. The parade will be on Voss Road. We will start in the DDK Kabob parking lot and march down Voss all the way to the KHS Stadium. You don’t want to miss this event!!! At the end of the parade we will have a pep rally in the stadium and they will crown homecoming King and Queen.

Dress: Full Uniform: Students need to wear LONG BLACK SOCKS with the full uniform. Students will wear their member shirt underneath the uniform. They will also wear black compression shorts or black basketball shorts underneath. Students with long hair will have to pull their hair into a “high schow bun” when in uniform. Students are not permitted to wear jewelry when in uniform. Students are not permitted to have nail polish on when in uniform. Students are not permitted to eat when in uniform. 


Parade walks/rides down Voss with Kempner Band leading, Brigade, hoco court, etc, then cheer and Dr. Jackson will be caboose. Parade participants will stage at DDK Kabab. DROP OFF ONLY! Spectators will watch on Kempner side of Voss Rd from daycare to teacher lot. Following parade, spectators will enter on HOME side of stadium for pep rally Club, Orgs., Athletics, and Feeders in parade may throw candy and/or other trinkets while in route to spectators. Parking for parade participants and attendees will be KHS student parking lot Parade will end in teacher lot and continue onto football field for pep rally. One decorated vehicle allowed per group with waiver

Kempner Band Family,

This week is Homecoming!!! We have our 3rd Football Game, Homecoming, Friday, September 13th at Mercer Stadium Stadium at 7:00pm against Wisdom High School. We will sit on the Home side and perform to the Home side at Half Time. A full itinerary for Friday is listed below.  I hope that many of you can make it out to support our students.

Emergency Contact Information- All students must turn this in or they will not be allowed to travel with us and can’t go to the game.

Tickets- THERE WILL BE NO CASH SALES AT THE GATE. Tickets should be available on this website. Click the link; Tickets .

Equipment Needed: Instrument, flip folder with music, liar, water jug(pre-filled with ice-water). ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A FLIP FOLDER!!!

Meals- If you paid for the meal plan, the meal is Raising Canes – 4 Chicken Strips, 1 toast, chips, cookie and drink. If you did not purchase the meal plan, you may bring a sack lunch to eat during ECPL time. Students must have a written note from a parent to leave campus to eat during ECPL. ECPL stands for Eat Change Pack Load.

Dismissal- When we arrive back to school, we will not dismiss any students until all equipment has been put away and checked.

CLEAR BAG POLICY - Note FBISD has implemented a clear bag policy for all games at District sports facilities including Hall Stadium, Hopson Field House, Mercer Stadium, Wheeler Field House, Cook Natatorium, and Aquatic Practice Facility.

The following types of bags are permitted:

  • Clear, plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” in size

  • Clear, plastic, one-gallon, re-sealable, Ziploc-style bags

  • Clutch bags approximately the size of a hand (4½” x 6½” or smaller)
