Fall color guard auditions

Audition info

Auditions for the 2017-2018 KHS Color Guard will take place Monday, April 24th through Thursday, April 27th at Kempner High School in the competition gym. Auditions are open to anyone currently in grades 8-11. We encourage anyone interested to come out and experience this unique activity.  NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!

how to prepare

No experience is required to audition for the Fall Color Guard! If you are determined to get a leg up, those with experience in dance (ballet, jazz, modern), baton twirling, cheer, theater, gymnastics, or other performing arts, will find that they may understand the concepts and techniques being taught a bit easier. You may also wish to seek out a current member of the color guard and ask for assistance!  Our current members are always willing to help out those who want to learn more about color guard!

parent meeting

A mandatory parent meeting will take place after the auditions for all students who are selected to the color guard. We will discuss dues, what to expect during the season, and student and parent expectations. We will also discuss various ways that parents can get involved and support our team! A date for the meeting will be set during the Spring.
