LAST WEEK OF BAND CAMP!

Families and Supporters,

Band camp is almost through with 3 more rehearsals before we launch into the first week of school!  We as a staff could not be more proud of the thorough and dedicated work our students have been doing during their summer band training and we are looking forward to a strong marching season with our competitive show: FOUNDATIONS!  I would like to draw your attention to a couple of items as we draw this week to a close.

FRIDAY REHEARSAL AND SHOWING!

This coming Friday evening we will be having rehearsal as per our calendar and we invite you to come see our students rehearse a bit as well as see a full run of the amount of show we have up to this point!  We have been encountering sever weather each day and I want to assure you that the staff has a top priority of keeping our students safe.  We are regularly updated with a lightning and weather alert system that gives us real time notifications on sever weather conditions with district mandates to help us know when it is time to leave rehearsal or move indoors.  This being said, we were hoping to have a rehearsal and show this Friday in our Kempner Stadium next to our school. If the field is too wet we will have it in our parking lot field.  Please come out and watch the rehearsal process and enjoy the culminating efforts of our students!

SCHOOL BEGINS!

As we begin school, schedules are often times being worked out and we are getting into our day to day rhythm.  You will be receiving information about our annual mail out fundraiser campaign that we will launch our first week of school!  Please continue to reference our calendar and the required rehearsal times for our students.  Our very first football game will be in Katy against Mayde Creek High School on Thursday at 6:30 pm.

Rhodes Stadium, 1733 Katy Fort Bend Rd, Katy, TX 77493, United States

It is of huge importance that our students are present during after school rehearsals in order for us to continue to learn new material and prepare for weekly football game performances.  It is very difficult for the students who are at rehearsal to learn the marching band show without others around them present as this is very much a team sport!  Please continue to communicate with us as we approach these after school, co-curricular rehearsal times.

BAND FEES

Please continue to communicate with me (Scott Norman) about band fees as these have been due for some time. It is important that we raise these funds accordingly to have the necessary amounts available to secure transportation, food, and equipment for our hard working students!

Again, thank you for your continued support!

Band Camp!

Students, Families and Supporters,

Good afternoon!

I wanted to remind everyone of our upcoming band camp (beginning this Tuesday) and explain a few things. We, as a staff, are very excited about starting this marching season!

Schedule

Please refer to our online calendar to see the rehearsal schedule, as well as the events that will be taking place during the fall. Though we try to be as accurate as possible with the calendar, things come up. Thus, we encourage you to keep the calendar handy and check it often. If there is a change to be made, it will be communicated. Please schedule your doctor’s appointments, vacations, etc. around band functions.

Visit kempnerband.org/calendar for details.

The deadline for band fees is Monday, August 1st. If you have not paid in full, we ask that you do so by that date. If you need to discuss a payment plan with a director, please do so soon. Checks need to be made out to KMCBC, though cash will be accepted.

Mandatory Parent Meeting

Please plan to attend the mandatory parent meeting this Friday, July 29th at 6pm in the Kempner High School Auditorium. We will be discussing very important topics at that meeting. You will have an opportunity to make you band fee payment at that time.

Please refer to Mr. Norman’s email about Monday. Also, plan on having some discussions after rehearsal on Tuesday, or any other day of band camp.
