TCGC Tompkins News!

The Indoor Percussion Ensemble and the Winter Guard both had great showings at the Texas Color Guard Circuit Tompkins show on Saturday 2/25!  The Winter Guard competed successfully in their first show in NATIONAL A CLASS, after being promoted for an outstanding job at the previous WGI regional in Houston.  The Indoor Percussion Ensemble was awarded their first victory in the history of the program in only their second show in existence.  Their first show, they received 2nd place.  The Kempner High School band program is proud of these ensembles and the work they do as well as the learning opportunities they offer our students!

3:30 - 4:30 pm  Rehearsal

4:30 - 5:30 pm  Eat and pack

5:30 - 6:15 pm  Transit to Hightower High School on FBISD bus

6:15 - 7:10 pm  Unload and warm up

7:10 - 7:20 pm  Perform

7:20 - 7:35 pm  Load and go to help percussion

7:45 - 7:55 pm  Watch percussion

8:10 - 8:25 pm  Transit to Kempner on FBISD bus

8:25 - 8:45 pm  Unload and dismiss

3-4 wind ensemble ALL BRASS

3:30-6:30 winter guard rehearsal

5-6 symphonic band upper brass

6:30-8:30 indoor percussion rehearsal

WEDNESDAY 

3-5 wind ensemble ALL WINDS 

3:30-5:30 winter guard rehearsal 

5:30-7:30 NO SYMPHONIC BAND REHEARSAL

6:30-9:00 FBISD Indoor Night - Percussion and Color Guard

THURSDAY 

3:30-6:30 winter guard rehearsal

6:30 side by side concert (4-7 for students)

Itinerary for students:

2:45 pm - School ends

4:00 pm - Call time

4:00 pm - All students stack instrument cases in orchestra hall by section - be a great example for the middle school students!

4:10 pm - Silver Band Set up commons - set up as best you can, more stands and chairs will be brought over from the middles school.

4:10 pm - Maroon Band sets up band hall - all percussion instruments and other equipment must be removed. Stands/chairs will be brought over from the middle school.

4:30 pm - Middle school students arrive!

4:30 pm - Unload stands/chairs/instruments, finish setting up band hall and commons

5:00 pm - Rehearsal begins

6:00 pm - Rehearsal ends - Maroon Band transition to commons

6:30 pm - Concert
