Action Items Before Band Camp

Physicals

All band students must complete a physical before July 19th. For more information regarding physicals, please click here: physicals

Flip Folder/Lyre

All woodwind and brass students are required to have a flip folder and a lyre. You can purchase these items at any of our local music stores; Music & Arts, H&H, Fort Bend Music Center. You must have these items by July 19th.

Band Shoes

All band students are require to wear Black MTX Marching Shoes for all performances. You may purchase these on your own. We will organize a group order the 1st week of band camp. All students must have their shoes by August 13th(our 1st performance). Women’s Shoe

White T-Shirts/Rehearsal uniform

All band students must wear white-t-shirts at marching band rehearsals including band camp. It is okay if the t-shirts have logos or writing on them, as long as they are mostly white. Students must wear some type of tennis shoe for rehearsals; no sandals, slides, high heels, etc. It is recommended that students wear basketball style shorts for rehearsal. There is requirement for color.

Hot Weather Uniform

We wear hot weather uniforms for football games and performances when the temperature is extreme, usually the first 2-4 games of the year. We also wear hot weather uniforms for pep rallies, after performances at contest, etc..

Parent Meeting

On Thursday, May 20th at 7pm Mr. Brodt will hold a Band Parent Meeting on Zoom. This meeting is intended to share information regarding Marching Band, policies, procedures, and answer any questions you may have about the 21-22 school year. The meeting shouldn’t last more than 20 mins.

Band Boosters

The Kempner Marching Cougars Booster Club (KMCBC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is committed to supporting the Kempner High School Band, financially and through volunteer efforts. Our booster club is under the leadership of our elected Executive Booster Board. We will be nominating officers for the 21-22 school year during the Zoom meeting on Thursday; President, Vice President, VP of Volunteers, Treasurer, Secretary, Fundraising Chairperson.
