AREA Marching Contest Saturday, Oct 28th

On Saturday, October 28th we are performing for the UIL AREA Marching Band Contest at Freedom Field in Alvin ISD. This is a Pre-lims/Finals style contest. We will perform in our pre-lims performance at 10:45am and will be evaluated by 3 music and 2 visual judges. Only the top 7 bands will advance to Finals. Finals will begin that evening at 6:00pm and the 7 finalist will perform again and be ranked based on their finals performance. The top 3 bands in finals will advance to the UIL State Marching Contest at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio.

Dress: Full Uniform: Students need to wear LONG BLACK SOCKS with the full uniform. Students will wear their member shirt underneath the uniform. They will also wear black compression shorts or black basketball shorts underneath. Students with long hair will have to put their hair in two low braids” when in uniform. Students are not permitted to wear jewelry when in uniform. Students are not permitted to have nail polish on when in uniform. Students are not permitted to eat when in uniform.

Admission- Admission to the contest is $7.00 per person. The admission ticket is good for both Prelims and Finals. Please encourage your parents and other attendees to purchase their tickets before arriving, from the following link, to avoid a large crowd at the entrance.

Clear bag policy- FREEDOM FIELD HAS A CLEAR BAG POLICY. PLEASE INFORM YOUR PARENTS AND POTENTIAL SPECTATORS!

Meals- The band boosters will provide Kolaches, Donuts, and Juice for Breakfast. They will also provide pizza and Gatorades for lunch at the stadium. Students should bring $$$ for concessions for the evening.

UIL Region Marching Contest

Student Report Time 5:15 AM

On Saturday, October 14th we are performing for the UIL Region Marching Band Contest at Hall Stadium in FBISD. This is a UIL ratings contest. We will perform at 10:30pm and will be evaluated by 3 judges who rate us with Division ratings of 1 through 5. If the band receives 1s from the judges we will receive a UIL Marching Trophy and advance to the AREA contest on Oct 28th.

Dress: Full Uniform: Students need to wear LONG BLACK SOCKS with the full uniform. Students will wear their member shirt underneath the uniform. They will also wear black compression shorts or black basketball shorts underneath. Students with long hair will have to pull their hair into a “2 Braids” when in uniform. Students are not permitted to wear jewelry when in uniform. Students are not permitted to have nail polish on when in uniform. Students are not permitted to eat when in uniform.

On Saturday, October 7th we are performing for the Gulf Coast Marching Band Contest at Challenger Stadium in Clear Creek ISD. This is a Pre-lims/Finals style contest. We will perform in our pre-lims performance at 12:30pm and will be evaluated by 3 music, 2 visual judges, percussion judge, and guard judge. Only the top 10 bands will advance to Finals. Finals will begin that evening and the 10 finalist will perform again and be ranked based on their finals performance.

Spectators will enter the stadium grounds at the northernmost entrance on Nasa Blvd. Please make sure your parents and

spectators allow time to park, walk into the stadium, and find a seat prior to your performance time.
