Region Band Auditions

ALL WIND ENSEMBLE MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO AUDITION FOR REGION BAND!!!

Region Phase 1 auditions have already begun. Phase 1 is for Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Trumpet, Tenor Trombone, Percussion, and Horn students. Phase 1 entries must be submitted by Wednesday, Nov 14th 11:59pm.

Region Phase 2, Non-Phased Instruments, and all Freshman auditions will begin on December 5th. Flute (advancing students only), Oboe/English Horn, Bassoon/Contra Bassoon, Bb Clarinet (advancing students only), Low Clarinets (bass & contrabass), Alto Saxophone (advancing students only), Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet (advancing students only), F Horn (advancing students only), Tenor Trombone (advancing students only), Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion (advancing students only). Please check the list below to verify that Mr. Brodt has signed you up for this audition. Contact Mr. Brodt if there are any corrections that need to be made.

Fees

The entry fee for Region band is $15. Please pay online to the Kempner Band using Venmo or Zelle. Visit the Band Fees page to see information on how to pay fees.

The audition upload period will open by 10:00 am CDT Saturday, December 5th, 2020 and close at 11:59 pm CDT on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020. During this time, the student audition pages will become active to show them their MusicFirst login information. The login information will also be listed on the Student Audition Logins page for your reference and use.

Band Pictures(Make-Up)

If you missed getting your band picture a few weeks ago we will be taking mak-up Pictures in the Marching Band Uniform thisWednesday, December 2nd, 5pm-7pm. Come to KHS after school between 5pm-7pm. Come to the band room off the courtyard. You can park in the bus ramp parking lot. Students need to bring money with the order form and give it directly to the photographer. Make checks payable to Texas Group Photo.

Senior Night

Dear Senior parents and students,

I am excited to announce that we will be honoring our Senior Band students during halftime at this Friday’s game at Mercer Stadium. Before we perform, Senior students will move to the front sideline and join their parents as we call their names and honor them for being committed to the Kempner Band for 4 years!!!

Escorts

Escorts will enter the field before the band performs. Escorts will enter through the same opening that the band enters from, just follow the band down. You will stand on the sideline and wait for your student to be lined up. Once students are lined up, escorts will go stand next to your student. Only parents or guardians are permitted to be escorts. Anyone else will require the approval of Mr. Brodt. After we announce all the Seniors, escorts will go back to the stands and watch the performance.

Dressing up

It is our tradition that Seniors and their escorts dress up for Senior Night. It is up to you to decide how dressed up you will be. Seniors will have to perform in their dress clothes immediately after the recognition. I would recommend if you wear a dress, to wear bloomers or shorts underneath in case of wind while performing.
