Area Marching Contest

Prelims Performance Time 10:45am

The marching band advanced to UIL Area contest by earning straight 1’s at UIL Region contest. There are 18 bands at Area contest, you can see a full list of bands by clicking the performance schedule. Each band will perform in pre-lims and the top 7 will be selected to perform again in Finals that evening. The top 3 bands in finals will be selected to advance to State Marching contest. This is an all day event for the Kempner Band, please get rest the night before and be prepared to be outside the majority of the day.

Tickets- Tickets are $5 for spectators and are only available for purchase online.

Meals- The band boosters will provide breakfast tacos, donuts, and juice for breakfast. Students need to bring money$$$ for lunch at Katy Mills Mall. One of our parents is providing Hot Dogs for dinner. Students will also receive gatorades after their performance along with chex mix snacks.

4:30 pm - Pre-Lim Awards
6:30pm- Finals Start

9:00pm- Depart for KHS
9:30pm- Arrive at KHS
10:00pm- Dismiss

Region Audition

Learning region etudes and participating in the region band audition process is a critical part of the development of being an instrumentalist. Universities look at region audition results when giving out scholarships.

Please click the links and check that you are signed up on the correct audition on the correct instrument. Let me know immediately if changes need to be made.

Students must pay $15 for region auditions. Please bring cash only and deposit in the band hall safe.

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the audition location.

All wind ensemble members are required to audition for region band. Participation will count as a double major grade for them.

HBU Marching Contest, Saturday, Oct 16th

Performance Time: 3:30pm

We have our 3rd contest of the year at HBU this Saturday. It is very important that every band member attend every rehearsal this week and next week. Attendance has been a bit inconsistent at rehearsals this year, the only way our students can do their best at contest is if we prepare with all members present.

Concessions- Concessions will be available at the stadium for spectators; burgers, hot dogs, nachos, snow cones, water, Gatorade

Meal- All students will be provided with a chic-fil-a sandwich, chips, and a drink. We will also have Gatorade for the students after their performance.

Spectators- Tickets are $5. Fans will need to enter Gate #3 on Beechnut St and Park in Lot #6
