Action Items Before Band Camp 24-25

BAND CAMP IS MANDATORY FOR ALL BAND STUDENTS!!!

Camp begins July 22nd for Percussion and Color Guard, July 25th for new freshman, and July 29th for All Members. . Check the calendar for a complete schedule of all rehearsals.

Physicals

All band students should have completed and turned in a physical by now. If you have not done so, please take care of this ASAP. All students must have a physical to participate in Band. For more information regarding physicals, please click here: physicals

Flip Folder/Lyre

All woodwind and brass students are required to have a flip folder and a lyre. You can purchase these items at any of our local music stores; Music & Arts, H&H, Fort Bend Music Center. You must have these items by July 24th.

White T-Shirts/Rehearsal uniform

All band students must wear white-t-shirts at marching band rehearsals including band camp. It is okay if the t-shirts have logos or writing on them, as long as they are mostly white. Students must wear some type of tennis shoe for rehearsals; no sandals, slides, high heels, etc. NO CROCS!!! It is recommended that students wear basketball style shorts for rehearsal. There is no requirement for color.

Hot Weather Uniform

We wear hot weather uniforms for football games and performances when the temperature is extreme, usually the first 2-4 games of the year. We also wear hot weather uniforms for pep rallies, after performances at contest, etc..

Band Fees

The Final band fee payment is due July 31st. You can see all information regarding fees on this page: Band Fees. Band students who need marching shoes can order here: Shoes. Shoe orders must be submitted by August 1st.


Marching in May

Monday and Tuesday May 6th and 7th

6pm-8pm

At Kempner High School

Marching in May is a required event for all new and returning band members. This is a great opportunity for the band to get to know each other and have a fun time together! Students need to bring their instruments and dress in comfortable clothes. Students will be learning some basic marching fundamentals and learning music for next year’s marching season.

Drop students off in the back parking by the black band tower. Students need to report to the band hall.

Students will participate in games, marching activities, etc outdoors in the marching band parking lot. Students will also have music rehearsals indoors in the band hall, auditorium, commons, etc..

Parent Meeting Tuesday, May 7th at 8pm in the band hall to discuss items related to the 23-24 Marching Band Season. All 23-24 band parents need to attend!!!

Student/Parent Registration will take place every night of Marching in May 8:00pm-9:00pm. Students and parents will check out instruments, pay fees, and sign-up for Remind communication.


Band Banquet 2024

Tickets are $20 Cash/Check only. Deposit your money in the band hall safe. You will receive a receipt from Mr. Brodt, this is your ticket. Ticket sales will end Friday, May 10th.

Do not pay online!!! You need a receipt from Mr. Brodt as your ticket to get in.

The Band Banquet will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at Safari Texas from 6pm to 9pm. Safari Texas is a beautiful venue that offers full service, and even has some exotic animals to see. All band and color guard students are invited to attend. Parents and family members are also welcome. Anyone not a family member will have to be approved by Mr. Brodt.

Appetizers: BBQ Meatballs, Chicken & Cheese Quesadillas, & Seasonal Fruit Tray.

Buffet Dinner: Tossed Salad, Chicken Parmesan, Bow Tie Pasta, Stir-fried Vegetable Medley, Assorted Dinner Rolls

Dessert: Chocalate Cake Beverages: Ice Water, Iced Tea, Coffee , Sodas
